MK Stalin became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the last elections. With this, he joined the rare list of a father-son duo who became the CM of the state. His father M. Karunanidhi served as the Chief Minister earlier. After assuming the CMO, Stalin has been leaving his mark.
Be it reducing the price of fuel, or sending help to people, Stalin proved himself as a leader. Tamil Nadu is known for its revenge politics. Despite this, Stalin let the Amma Canteens run and also made his party activists arrested as they tried to damage the canteens.
Now people are talking about the new decision the Stalin government took and many call this a controversial decision of the government to date. In the Assembly House, the bill was passed despite criticism from the opposition party leaders.
The Tamil Nadu government passed a bill that says that the working hours of employees were increased to 12 hours from the existing 8 hours. The bill brought a wide range of criticism and the opposition parties walked out of the house. Even the DMK party's allies walked out of the house.
The opposition parties and the activists say that the decision will benefit the corporate companies and the big companies and the employees will be exploited. The Communist party said that laborers would get impacted by this.
However, Tamil Nadu Labour Minister C. V. Ganesan said that there is no need of making such criticism for the bill and said that the rule does not apply to all the companies and the companies where laborers accept this will be used.
