Tamil Nadu Polls: Sasikala's name reportedly missing from voter list!
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 April 2021 6:15 AM GMTWhen Tamil Nadu is witnessing the much-awaited Assembly elections, VK Sasikala, a close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, was reportedly removed from the list of voters, her counsel said.
Calling the removal of her name from the voters' list as injustice, Sasikala said she will take the legal route to get her vote and take action against the officials for this, media reports claimed.
Before her arrest in the disproportionate assets case in 2017, Sasikala's voter card mentioned Poes Garden as her address. Post her arrest, the Tamil Nadu government made the building a memorial, which in turn resulting in deleting the voter cards issued on the address.
Media reports quoted Sasikala's lawyer Raja Senthoor Panidan as saying, she reached out to the state Chief Election Officer to look into the matter of her name removal from the voter's list. The officer told her that the last date to make changes in the voter's list has expired on March 9.
Sasikala who earlier expressed her willingness to foray into electoral politics changed her way and opted out of the polls. She said she has no interest in power and urged the followers of Amma to fight against the DMK party.
