TDP campaign fizzling out in Tirupati?
X
The TDP campaign in Tirupati MP constituency bypoll is getting feebler and feebler by each passing day. Though top leaders, including Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh have plunged themselves into the campaign, things seem to be going astray for the TDP. The response from the people is none too encouraging.

More importantly, there is no leadership worth the name in several assembly segments under the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency. In constituencies like Venkatagiri, Sullurpet and Satyavedu, the TDP seems to be suffering from leadership shortage. Though Guduru is a face saver as it is TDP candidate Panabaka Lakshmi's home turf, there is nothing much to go home and tell about in other constituencies. Leaders like Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy have past their prime and are unable to attract crowds. In Kalahasti, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy's son Sudheer Reddy is not very active in the party affairs. Similarly, Tirupati former MLA Sugunamma too is quite inactive. As a result, the party is unable to get its act together.

Though leaders like Atchen Naidu and Devineni Uma are working hard by conducting review meets with the party workers, the things are not looking up for the TDP. In 2019, the TDP had got 55 per cent votes, while the TDP could get just 37 per cent votes. It would be very difficult for the TDP to make up the 18 per cent deficit.
