TDP, Congress coming together again, guess where?
If you thought that the TDP-Congress poll alliance is long dead, then think again? Many thought that the TDP has now severed its links with the Congress, especially after the 2018 disaster in Telangana assembly elections. Many even say that the TDP is trying to inch closer to the BJP for the 2024 elections in order to defeat the YSRCP.

The TDP and the Congress are coming together again and are fighting elections in alliance. No not in AP or Telangana, but in faraway Andaman and Nicobar. The local TDP and Congress leaders have announced that both the parties would form an electoral alliance in Andaman and Nicobar for the upcoming municipal elections.

As part of this, the TDP and the Congress will fight in alliance. The elections would be held on March 6 and the results would be declared on March 8. The last time, the TDP was in alliance with the Congress was in 2018 assembly elections in Telangana. The elections ended in a dismal failure with the TDP winning just two seats and the Congress barely winning some 20 seats. Both the victorious TDP MLAs had joined the ruling TRS soon.

As of now, the TDP is trying have an alliance with both the Jana Sena and the BJP in Andhra Pradesh to face the YSRCP. An alliance with the Congress many not be possible in AP given the dismal state of affairs of the Congress party in the state.
