TDP eyes Key Post in Jagan's bastion

TDP Leadership is determined to grow as a powerful force in Kadapa district which is known to be a stronghold of YSR Family. As part of the mission, The ruling party took the election for Kadapa Standing Committee as a prestige issue.
Notification for Kadapa Standing Committee election, scheduled to take place on November 23rd was released on Friday. On the first day itself, Aspirants have filed the nominations.
Standing Committee approval is a must for development works to the tune of Rs 50 lakhs in Kadapa Corporation. This panel have the powers to transfer the Superintendent-range Officials. Standing Committee will have an authority either to offer municipal assets for lease or cancel the lease.
In Kadapa Corporation, YSR Congress have the strength of 42 members. Whereas, TDP managed to have only 8 votes. But, The strength of Ruling Party increased to 18 votes after it fielded Adinarayana Reddy as its candidate in last year's election. Some of the YCP Members voted for TDP in that poll.
This year's Standing Committee election would be a challenge for YCP as already 12 of its Corporators have joined TDP already. If Telugu Desam attains 26 votes by the time of polling date, Then Jagan would get the shock of his life.
