TDP fourth-richest regional party, TRS, YCP and 6 and 8th place

The non-governmental organisation Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) that works in the area of electoral and political reforms issued a report on th richest regional political outfits.

As per the report, TDP stood at fourth place in the list of the top ten richest regional parties with assets worth Rs 193 crore. TRS and YSRCP stand in sixth and eighth place with Rs 188 crore and Rs 93 crore respectively.

The electoral reforms firm prepared the reports for the 2018-19 fiscal. Uttar Pradesh's Samajwadi Party, Odisha's Biju Janata Dal(BJD), and ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu stood at the top three places.

Samajwadi Party owns assets worth Rs 572 crore, the highest for any regional party, while Naveen Patnaik's BJD has assets worth Rs 232 crore and AIADMK's assets are worth Rs 206 crore assets.

Among the parties based out of Telugu States, TDP, TRS, and YSRCP top the list under liabilities, Fixed Deposits, and other assets category. For 2018-19, TDP declared Rs 18 crore liabilities, and TRS announced Rs 152 crore as Fixed Deposits and YSRCP has other assets worth Rs 79 crore assets.

Looking at the national scenario, BJP is the richest national party with assets and liabilities worth over Rs 2,900 crore. The opposition Congress declared assets worth Rs 928.24. In total, the national parties have assets worth a whopping Rs 7,372 crore.
