TDP in total disarray in Krishna district
X
The TDP, which is hoping for a revival in political fortunes in view of the rising anti-incumbency against the ruling YSRCP, received a shock when the party found itself on a very weak wicket in Krishna district, the district considered to be the core support base of the party. The party leadership is worried over the increasing weakening of the party organisational infrastructure in the district.

The cadre is disheartened and the leaders are busy infighting. The party in the district is split between Lokesh group and Chandrababu group. The TDP has lot ground after it decided not to contest in the panchayat level elections. This has virtually given a walkover to the ruling YSRCP in the district.

In Gudivada, the TDP's search for a strong candidate to take on former minister Kodali Nani has yielded no results. The TDP in Gudivada is divided into three groups. The party groups are led by Ravi Venkateswara Rao, Pinnamaneni Babji and Sistla Lohit. Only a united front can take on the might of Kodali Nani, but the TDP is deeply divided in Gudivada.

Ditto with Gannavaram assembly constituency There is no candidate worth the salt in Gannavaram. As a result, Chandrababu Naidu is said to have requested other leaders from neighbouring constituencies to shift to Gannavaram so as to contest the elections. In Penamaluru, the party is divided between Yalamanchili Babu Rajendra Prasad group and Devineni Gautham group. The cadre is utterly confused in the constituency.

It remains to be seen how Chandrababu addresses these issues and strengthens the party in these constituencies. Any further delay will only worsen the situation, say political pundits.
