The Budget sessions in Andhra Pradesh had started on an interesting note earlier today. Following the procedure, Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan had addressed the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to start the sessions. This marks the first address of the Governor after he assumed office.

But the address did not go as planned with the opposition Telugu Desam Party creating a ruckus in the house. The opposition leaders raised slogans against the government and Governor in the house and created a situation where the Governor could not give his address properly.

The TDP leaders have alleged that the Constitutional systems are not functioning properly and held the Governor responsible for this. Saying that the Governor had failed to protect these systems, they have raised slogans 'Go Back' 'Go back.

The leaders did not stop there. Tearing the budget copies, the TDP leaders have protested against the alleged failure of constitutional systems.

With no option left, the Governor had finished his speech amid slogans from the TDP leaders. TDP leaders even had a war of words with the marshals when they tried to stop the leaders from doing the sit-in protest inside the lobby. Saying that it is their right to protest, they had argued with the marshals.

Firebrand leader and chief of Telugu Desam Party for the state of Andhra Pradesh Kinjarapu Atchannaidu who led the protest had alleged that there was not a single incident in the past three years where the sessions were held peacefully.

Alleging that the TDP leaders are getting targeted by the ruling party since it rose to power, Atchannaidu had recalled how their chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu was humiliated inside the house by taking his wife’s name.

On this occasion, Atchannaidu also accused speaker Thammineni Seetharam of being partial to the ruling party leaders. He said that the TDP leaders were not allowed to speak in the house and their mics were also getting cut off.

The state TDP chief also advised Thammineni Seetharam to do justice to his role by seeing all the members in the house equally without any partiality. As a speaker he should act in a dignified manner and not like this, he said.
