Tdp Mla Moves Ap Hc Over Seizure Of Mobile Phones Issued To Ward Members

Ahead of the Municipal polls, Telugu Desam Party(TDP) Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu has filed a sensation petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
In the petition, the MLA has claimed that the Ward Secretariat employees and Village Volunteers are threatening the beneficiaries of welfare schemes that if they won't vote for the schemes will be stopped. He sought directives to seize the mobile phones, the AP government gave them till the polls are completed.
The MLA has also sought directives from the High Court to remove the colors that belong to the ruling YSRCP abiding by the Model Code of Conduct in the state. The petitioner also requested the HC to implement the orders issued by the bench in the past.
Hearing the petition, the Andhra Pradesh High Court issued notices to the AP government, State Election Commission, and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation(GVMC).
The High Court directed SEC, GVMC, and the government to submit complete details in this regard. The Court adjourned the next hearing in this case to Monday.
