TDP MLC Deepak Reddy arrested
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Jun 2017 5:35 AM GMTTDP MLC Deepak Reddy was arrested by Hyderabad CCS Police on Tuesday night for allegedly conspiring to encroach prime land in Banjara Hills and Asifnagar. This TDP Leader has been the prime accused in six land encroachment cases.
Reportedly, Deepak Reddy planned to encroach plots worth around Rs 165 crore with the help of Advocate Sailesh Saxena. Both the accused were arrested and sent to judicial remand.
DCP (Crime Investigation) Avinash Mohanti: 'Anticipatory Bail period of Deepak Reddy was completed. Court dismissed the bail petition of Sailesh Saxena. We informed AP Legislative Council before taking Deepak Reddy into custody. Even a Realtor identified as R Srinivas was arrested for co-operating with the accused. They tried to encroach lands using forgery documents'.
Deepak Reddy got elected as TDP MLC from Anantapur District. He is the son-in-law of Tadipatri MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy. In the election affidavit he submitted while contesting from Rayadurgam in 2012, He claimed to be have assets worth Rs 7,000 crore. He was involved in 12 land disputes in 2012 itself.
