TDP sure there will be early polls in AP
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Jun 2022 7:07 AM GMTThe TDP in Andhra Pradesh is coming round to believe that AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to go for early polls. The party is of the opinion that YS Jagan would call for snap polls to arrest the downslide in the popularity of his party. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has already called upon the party workers and the cadre to be prepared for the snap polls.
On Thursday, he held a video conference with the party leaders and the cadres across the state. He asked them to gear up for the possibility of an interim poll. He said that the YSRCP realises that its popularity graph is falling at an alarming pace. The only way to prevent this are to snowball into anger is to call for early polls, he said and added that the YSRCP is set to do the same.
Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the conduction of Mahanadu, BadudeBadudu and other programmes. He also emphasised on improving the membership of the party. He called upon the party workers to focus on improving the membership of the party. He asked the party workers to take up agitational programmes against the ruling YSRCP.
Chandrababu also criticised the YSRCP for its doublespeak on the issue of Atmakur bypolls. He said the TDP believes in certain conventions and that it would not put up candidates if the bypoll is necessitated by the demise of the sitting MLA and if a member of the MLA's family is in the fray. However, the YSRCP is trying to claim that the TDP did not put up candidates as it was afraid of being defeated in the bypolls. He said this exposes the mean mentality of the YSRCP.
