TDP Telangana Chief Makes A Key Announcement On GHMC Elections

Hours after, Telangana State Election Commissioner (SEC) Partha Sarathi released the election schedule for the much-awaited GHMC elections, Telangana TDP president L. Ramana made a crucial announcement.

The state chief said, Telugu Desam Party(TDP) will contest the civic body polls and the candidates' list who will contest in the polls will be announced soon, reports claimed.

However, Ramana said the party will don't have any alliance with other parties and they will run the local body polls alone.

The chief made it clear that unlike other parties, TDP will not contest from all the divisions of GHMC. They will contest elections in the divisions where the party enjoys a stronghold.

He too has sung Chandrababu's tune on developing the pearl city Hyderabad. Ramana said the TDP party alone has the right to ask for votes as the city was developed during the parry ruling.

TDP used to enjoy a good hold on the state in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. After Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh, TDP shifted its full base to Andhra Pradesh.

Strong leaders like Revanth Reddy and others have shifted their loyalties to other parties leaving TDP like an orphan. Slowly, the party started losing its hold on the state.

Back in the 2018 elections, late Harikrishna's daughter Nandamuri Suhasini has contested from the Kukatpally constituency. Balakrishna has campaigned for Suhasini during the elections.

Kukatpally area in Hyderabad enjoys a good share of the Andhra Population. A majority of voters in Kukatpally belongs to Suhasini's community. Even these two aspects have not helped Suhasini to win the elections.
