Where are the three TDP-turned-BJP MPs these days? They have completely stopped making public appearances and are not seen in the BJP meetings in the state. Sujana Chowdary, CM Ramesh and TG Venkatesh were elected to the Rajya Sabha on TDP ticket, but joined the BJP later. All the three were highly active during the reign of Kanna Lakshminarayana.
Though Venkatesh used to make occasional appearances, both Sujana and CM Ramesh were regulars at the state level meetings and made their presence felt. Sujana even took a very active part in the Amaravati agitation. He toured different parts of the capital region to mobilise support for Amaravati as the sole capital. But, all this changed once Kanna Laxminarayana left and Somu Veerraju became the AP BjP president.
Somu Veerraju made it clear that the Central government has nothing to do with the capital issue. He said the party leaders should not be seen as supportive of the TDP on the issue. His stern warning has made these three MPs go silent. These days they are not being seen in any party forum in the state. However, sources say the threesome is quite busy in Delhi and are trying to lobby on various issues.
