Three years into power, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP is facing sharp criticism for hiking various charges and prices of commodities. The current charges and the fuel prices hike are bringing a lot of criticism to the party. A few leaders had to face the heat from the people at the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam program with this.

With the elections two years away, the opposition Telugu Desam Party started a flagship 'Badude Badudu' program to highlight how the government is breaking the backbone of the people by increasing the prices. Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu is actively taking part in the program to give josh to the party cadre and leaders. Even in Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy’s own turn Kadapa, the program received a good response.

Amid this, the Union government gave a golden opportunity to the Telugu Desam Party to attack the ruling YSRCP by reducing the excise duty on petrol and diesel, making the fuel prices come down by around Rs 10 per liter.

Not leaving the opportunity, the Telugu Desam Party quickly jumped in and attacked the YCP on this. Thanking the Union government for reducing the excise duty and for urging the states to reduce the VAT on fuel, Chandrababu Naidu blasted YS Jagan.

In a series of tweets, Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu came down severely on the ruling party. Saying that the growing prices are making it tough for the common people, Chandrababu Naidu demanded the Andhra Pradesh government reduce the taxes on the fuel.

Chandrababu Naidu drew a comparison between the Telugu Desam Party government and the YCP government and said that Andhra Pradesh is in the first position in terms of taxes imposed on Petrol in the country while the state used to be at the top position in development in the TDP regime.

It has to be mentioned here that the Union Government had recently announced a cut of Rs 8 and Rs 6 taxes on petrol and diesel as a big relief. Taking the Centre’s route, a few BJP ruled states and others as well reduced the state VAT bringing down prices even more.
