TDP Undefeatable In This Constituency
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 May 2019 6:40 AM GMTYCP Tsunami in 2019 Elections had crushed TDP in the constituencies in which it used to have a stronghold. Most of the Ministers and Sitting MLAs of TDP faced defeat in this elections.
Prior to the counting of votes, There was a feeling that Nandamuri Balakrishna might face defeat in Hindupur Constituency even if TDP wins around 60 seats. This is because of the various reasons due to which Sitting MLA made headlines in the past five years. Proving the critics wrong, Balayya emerged victories in the Hindupur Constituency.
For 2019 Elections, YCP fielded Former IG Iqbal Ahmed in Hindupur. He, however, failed to challenge Balakrishna inspite of the YCP Wave allover the state. One of the major factors which worked in favour of Nata Simha is the 'undefeatable' record for TDP in Hindupur. Telugu Desam Candidates emerged victorious in Hindupur in all the 9 Assembly Elections which happened since 1983.
TDP Loyalists say, Good work done by Balakrishna in the past 5 years fetched him victory inspite of the controversies. Pipeline worth Rs 194 crore from Gollapalli to Hindupur for drinking water, Highway Expansion with Rs 320 crore, Rs 75 crore spent for Hindupur Water Tanks, Rs 66 crore for roads and few other development works happened in the past few years. Conducting Lepakshi Utsavam twice in the first term developed a strong sentiment in favour of Nandamuri Hero.
