TDP's general secretary and young gun Nara Lokesh is continuing to surprise and shock his own party men with his strange ways. Currently on a tour of East Godavari's tribal areas, he refused to garland the statue of his party's founder and his grandfather late NTR. Garlanding was part of the itinerary, Lokesh refused to get down from the car.

Nara Lokesh visited Etapaka and then travelled to Nellipaka. According to the decided programme chart, he was to garland the statue of TDP founder, thespian and his grandfather late NTR, situated at the national highway centre. The party workers readied up a massive garland (Gajamala) for the occasion. The party workers also erected several flexi banners, posters and festoons for the occasion.

On Tuesday, a large number of TDP workers gathered at the spot to welcome Lokesh. The TDP general secretary came to the spot but did not get out of the car. Lokesh just greeted the party workers who gathered at the centre and wanted to move ahead. At this, the party workers requested him to garland the statue of NTR. Lokesh plainly told him that he would not get down from the car and drove ahead. Shocked TDP workers gathered their wits later and then garlanded the NTR statue all by themselves.

Several TDP workers were upset with Lokesh Babu's behaviour. They felt it was wrong on the part of Lokesh to refuse to garland NTR's statue. They felt that it would not just send wrong signals among the party workers, but also among the public at large..
