Bureaucrat Hasmukh Adhia and five others in financial circles secretly worked on demonetization at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's New Delhi residence. These this members were assisted by a young team comprising of researchers working in two other rooms in the bungalow.

Senior Finance Ministry Official Adhia had overseen the exercise being done at PM's residence. He worked as Principal Secretary when Modi was CM of Gujarat from 2003 to 2006. It was he who introduced Yoga to Modi. In 2015, Modi appointed him as Revenue Secretary. Adhia can direct speak to Modi and they both converse in Gujarati.

Utmost secrecy was maintained to ensure Tax Evaders doesn't have a chance to convert their black money into gold or property. At the cabinet meeting on November 8th, Modi claims he has done necessary research and he alone takes the blame if demonetization fails to yield good results.

Demonetization is the boldest move by Narendra Modi since he became Prime Minister in 2014. The above reports would end the buzz that Union Government hasn't done enough exercise before scrapping 86 percent of currency in old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
