Indian Cricket Team will receive a cash award of exactly $1 million (USD) from International Cricket Council (ICC) if they continue to hold on to the No.1 Spot in Test Rankings till April 1st, 2017.
Actually, Prize Money for World's highest ranked Test Team used to be $500,000 until few years ago. ICC has doubled the Prize Money in 2015.
India is currently No.1 in ICC Test Rankings. To retain the top spot, Winning at least one of the four tests played against Australia will be more than enough.
Whereas, Australia will have beat India 3-0 and draw the other Test to claim No.1 Position. This looks highly unlikely if the current form of India is taken into consideration. India hasn't lost a single game in the past 20 Tests. Whereas, Australia holds poor record in the sub-continent. Will India win the first test against Australia at Pune to claim the prize money?
