Tech Giant TCS on the verge of achieving a new milestone in employee headcount

Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, headquartered in Mumbai, Tata Consultancy Services is on the verge of achieving a new milestone.
One of the largest IT sector firms in the world is expected to reach the milestone of 5 lakh employees count. As per the experts' prediction, the IT company might reach the milestone in the coming three months.
Despite the pandemic effect, the TCS welcomed not less than 40,185 employees during the financial year 2020-21. By adding the highest employee count in the Jan-Mar quarter, TCS now has a total of 4,88,649 employees.
The target looks getable, as the TCS has announced that, in the Financial Year 2021-22, more than 40,000 freshers will be appointed. The July-September quarter will also see a bulk of appointments.
In his recent outing with the media, TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan said, the company is focused on increasing the internal talent, and appointing new talent will help the company in increasing the talent.
If TCS achieves the milestone, it will emerge as the company to have the second-largest employee count after Accenture, which has an employee count of nearly 5.37 lakh.
Infosys( nearly 2.5 lakh), HCL Tech(1.6 lakh) and Wipro(1.9 lakh) jobs are the next in the list of IT companies in the country to have the largest employee count.
