At least 85000 Indian software techies, a major part of them Telugus, would lose job opportunities in the US what with the latter cancelling the H1B and H1L visas. Due to Donald Trump's decision, even those who currently are in the US with these visas would be affected and those who stay back will have to be completely on their own . This will be a huge financial burden on the Indians working in the US on these visas.
Trump took this decision to cancel the H1B and H1L visas to address the rising unemployment issues due to Corona. Already 5.25 lakh American jobs have been lost in the wake of the lockdown. Trump's latest decision is likely to affect 1.70 lakh Indians working on green cards. Even among those who have applied for green cards, an estimated 60 per cent are Indians.
