X
AP and Telangana High Courts will start functioning separated from January 1st, 2019. As the construction of Justice City in Amaravati is yet to be completed, Operations of AP High Court will happen at the Chief Minister's Office for a period of 20 days. Later, High Court would be shifted to temporary accommodation. Once after the Justice City gets completed, High Court will be shifted permanently and Temporary Accommodation is going to be used as District Court Complex.

On the other hand, AP Advocates staged a protest at the Hyderabad High Court against the bifurcation without even providing basic amenities in Amaravati. They demanded the United High Court Registry to postpone the bifurcation date till necessary facilities were provided. Advocates maintained, 'Division of staff and files is yet to happen. It will be tough task for both the High Courts to function smoothly in such a situation'.

Senior Judge Chagarru Praveen Kumar was appointed as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. While 16 Judges were allotted for AP High Court, 10 Judges were sanctioned for Telangana High Court.

Holidays were declared for High Court from January 5th to 20th. Court Building will be ready by the end of January.
