Telangana Best Performing State...In What?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Jan 2020 4:44 AM GMTAs per United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India, Telangana emerged as the best performing state in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth and decent work for all on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index 2019. Compared to 2018, Its performance in 2019 is far better with significant improvement in 8 out of 17 SDGs.
When it comes to Economic Growth and Decent Work, Telangana stood at 83 percent in 2019 as against 75 percent in the previous year.
Biggest growth was witnessed in Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. The performance improved from just 16 percent in 2018 to 61 percent in 2019.
It moved from 44 percent to 62 percent in SDG of sustainable cities and communities.
In providing clean water and sanitation, Performance improved from 55 percent to 84 percent.
In affordable and clean energy, 93 percent was achieved as against 63 in the previous year.
On the flip side, There was a sharp decline in some crucial SDGs. In Zero Hunger, It slipped to 36 percent from 53 in 2018. In Gender Equality, Performance dropped to 26 percent from 43 in the previous year.
Minister KTR reacted on the achievement, 'Fabulous news. Delighted to hear that Telangana is doing well where it matters: Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth'.
