Telangana Cops arrest AP Labour Official
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Oct 2014 3:53 AM GMTThe issues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are only getting worse with each passing day. On Thursday, Telanagan police arrested a denial official in AP Labour Department for allegedly denying Telangana its rightful share of labour cess Rs 609 crore.
An IAS Officer and T-Labour Commissioner A Ashok filed a complaint against AP's labour additional commissioner PV Murali Sagar with Chikkadpally police station accusing him of diverting Telangana's share of Rs 609 crore to AP.
As per T-Labour Department, United AP received Rs 1,400 crore from the municipal department as 1 percent cess out of property tax collected in the state. With AP Reorganisation Act coming into affect, This amount has been divided between the two states in 58:42 ratio. Hence, Telangana should receive its legal share of Rs 609 crore.
