Telangana Governor seeks reports on strike

The Telangana RTC Worker's strike intensifying day by day from the very first day and the Telangana government is not in a mood to have a meeting with the worker's union to sort out the issue. With this strike, almost 1 crore people are getting affected who use RTC to commute. According to the reports, Telangana Governor Tamilisai has stepped in and asked for a detail report regarding the steps taken by the government in this issue.
This intervention has gained the importance as the Governor has just returned from Delhi after having a meeting with Amit Shah about the situations in the state.
The RTC workers went for the strike as the government is not ready to accept their 26 demands, which includes a merger with the government. In a shock to the workers the KCR government didn't agree for their demands and on top of that 48,000 workers were removed from RTC.
As of now, only 6,000 buses are running out of around 10,600 buses, causing great difficulty to the public. Dussehra vacation for schools and colleges was extended till October 21st keeping the strike in the mind. The school buses and college buses were being used for public transportation.
Reportedly KCR held a meeting with the key officials to finalize the government version that has to be submitted before the High Court. Recently the High Court has ordered the government and the union leaders to end this strike as soon as possible.
The government rejected to pay salaries to workers who became part of the strike and has laid off 48,000 employees and only around 1,200 employees are working with RTC. Two employees have committed suicide as they didn’t get the salary for September.
RTC Joint Action Committee( JAC) convener Aswathama Reddy earlier warned KCR of dire consequences if he won't accept their demands.'KCR is not greater than a former charismatic chief minister like NT Rama Rao. If KCR continues to be adamant, anything can happen. Ministers like Harish Rao and Etela Rajender should speak up about the RTC strike', he said.
With the ongoing strike, the Osmania University has postponed it's undergraduate exams.
