The Telangana government has decided to delink the medical stream from the EAMCET entrance exam. The state government is conducting EAMCET exam on May 15. The decision was taken by the government in view of the recent Supreme Court order.

EAMCET has been conducting by the state governments from many years and graduation courses like MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, BSc., Pharm.D. , B.E, B. Tech, etc. require qualification in this exam. With the new announcement except for MBBS and BDS admission for other courses will be made as per Eamcet ranks.

Recently SC has made NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) as compulsory for all aspirants for getting admissions into MBBS and BDS courses. In a press release JNU announced that Admission to MBBS and BDS courses will be made based on NEET-2016 which is the sole medical entrance examination across India .First round of NEET conducted on May 1 and second round will be conducted in July.
