By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Aug 2021 6:49 AM GMTThe Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR had recently announced the flagship scheme Dalit Bandhu, a scheme that was brought to empower the Dalit community. The scheme will be launched today.
As a pilot project, the scheme will be launched from the poll-bound Huzurabad constituency. It is said that only 15 beneficiaries will be getting the cheques from the government today.
However, no one knows the details of the beneficiaries including those who were selected by the officials for the scheme. The suspense maintained by the officials on the beneficiaries came as a surprise to everyone.
Earlier last week, people from the Dalit community had staged a protest outside the Karimnagar MRO office seeking the list of the beneficiaries who were selected for the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
They alleged that the officials have picked ineligible for the scheme and demanded that those who are ineligible for the scheme should be removed from the final list so that the eligible candidates can apply for the same.
Concerned district Collector and Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar are yet to give the information on the final list of the beneficiaries for the scheme.
On the flip side, media reports claim that the details of the beneficiaries of the scheme are being kept secret as a precautionary measure and the finalised beneficiaries are expected to be informed to come to the meeting so take the cheques from the Chief Minister.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will get a cheque of Rs 10 lakh each which will be deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
