High Court Says No To Crackers For Diwali In Telangana
X
The Telangana High Court heard Public interest litigation (PIL) filed over cracker ban during the Diwali festival and issued crucial directives to the Telangana government.

The High Court said that crackers should be banned in the state and orders to ban the selling and purchase of the crackers. The Court also asked the government to give publicity over banning the crackers in the state.

The issue reached the court after P Indira Prakash, who works as a High Court advocate knocked on the doors of the court with PIL (Public Interest Litigation) to seek a cracker ban.

Telangana is not the first state to ban the crackers. Earlier states like Delhi and NCR, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Haryana, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Chandigarh have imposed a ban on crackers.

Several health experts opined that the air pollution caused by crackers bursting during the festival will deteriorate the air quality which results in the rapid growth of fresh cases.

The new orders from the High Court will surely leave a heavy toll on the retailers who are hoping to get benefit from the cracker business in the state. This marks the first-ever Craker free festival for ages.
