More and more demands are coming from the leaders and people ever since the Andhra Pradesh government announced the reorganisation of districts. Forget about the demands and objections from the regions in Andhra Pradesh. a demand came from the fellow Telugu state Telangana.

Veteran Congress leader, former AICC(All India Congress Committee) Secretary V. Hanumantha Rao who had earlier pitched the demand to name the Kurnool district after the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Damodaram Sanjivayya had taken his fight to the next level.

Escalating his fight, V. Hanumantha Rao had sat for a protest for the demand. Few other Congress leaders also supported him like ex Parliamentarian Harsha Kumar in the new fight. He said that the government should look into the demand and change the district name at the earliest.

The protest was held at Damodaram Sanjeevaiah’s residence in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool. Before sitting for the protest, Hanumantha Rao paid tributes for the Chief Minister and garlanded his statue.

Speaking to the media, Hanumantha Rao expressed his shock over the Andhra Pradesh government not thinking of naming the Kurnool district after the former Chief Minister. He asked how come no other leaders have raised the demand.

Recalling the good work done by the Chief Minister, the Congress leader said that it is the best possible way to honour the celebrated leader. Having said that, Hanumantha Rao had urged the local leaders to put pressure on the demand that the Kurnool district should be named after Damodaram Sanjeevaiah.
