By-Poll in Telangana on October 17th

Election Commission announced the schedule for by-election to the vacant seat in Telangana Legislative Council.
Telangana Minister T Nageswara Rao submitted his resignation to Legislative Council after getting elected to the Legislative Assembly. This development eventually paved way for the by-election.
EC confirms by-poll to the vacancy in Telangana Legislative Council on October 17th. October 3rd will be the last date for filing nominations.
Counting of Voters polled by MLAs would happen on October itself. The process begins at 5 PM and announcement of result follows.
TRS is most likely to retain the post with the strength it have in the Assembly. Around 20 Opposition MLAs have joined TRS since 2014 General Elections.
