The government agency National Crime Records Bureau(NCRB) which is into collecting and analysing crime data had compiled a report on the data of the prisoners lodged in various jails across the 29th state of India, Telangana. The newly announced data had shed light on various stunning areas.

As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report dated December 28, as many as 6,114 prisoners are being logged into various prisons due to their crimes. As a matter of concern, the major share of the prisoners is youth that too educated. More than 20 of the inmates whose cases are in the stage of undertrial are graduates.

The data further says that as much as 35 percent of prisoners are graduates and 12 percent of them are convicts in various cases. While the other 23 percent are under trial prisoners, who are awaiting the further hearing of their respective cases.

As many as 1905 prisoners have been convicted and out of them, 421 members are illiterates. 817 prisoners have primary education and 441 inmates have education between 10th and graduation.40 members are postgraduates and 23 inmates have either a B-tech degree or a Diploma.

Getting deeper into the matter, the under-trial prisoners include 2,275 Hindus, 1041 Muslims and 138 Christians, 14 Sikhs, and 28 people who belong to other faiths.
