In a shocking turn of events, a fire mishap was reported in one of the twin cities in Telangana Secunderabad where multiple lives were claimed. The firefighters have rushed to the spot for the rescue work. The fire accident is said to have happened during the early hours of Wednesday.

The alleged fire mishap reported at a big timber depot in Secunderabad had claimed as many as 11 lives and the victims are believed to be from Bihar who came here for job opportunities. However, there is no information on the injuries caused by the incident.

As per the information, the concerned fire control room received a call on the fire mishap around 3 AM on Wednesday. Without wasting any time, the department swung into action and the required help was sent to the spot.

Besides the Fire Services, the Telangana State Disaster Response personnel also showed up at the spot to bring the situation under control. It took around three hours to douse the fire and bring the situation under control.

When the fire broke out at the timber depot, there were as many as 12 workers and 11 workers had breathed their last. One worker had managed to escape the fire and he had the luck to narrowly come out safe. The police department is now busy probing the issue to know the exact reason behind the mishap.

Condolences are pouring in for the victims who lost their lives in the fire mishap. Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have mourned the deaths of the victims and announced ex-gratia for the kin of the victims.

The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of the victims and the concerned officials were directed to look into the formalities to hand over the money.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister’s Office took to Twitter to say that the Prime Minister is pained by the lives lost and the kin of the victims will get Rs 2 lakh each as ex-gratia. The amount will be given from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

"Pained by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire in Bhoiguda, Hyderabad. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased: PM @narendramodi," the PMO tweeted.
