Telangana seniors get a chance to complain against Revanth Reddy
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 April 2022 6:02 AM GMTFinally, Rahul Gandhi himself has stepped in to bring rapprochement between the Telangana Congress seniors and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. He gave a stern warning to the sulking seniors that they should air their opinions only in the party forums. But at the same time, he upbraided Revanth Reddy for not taking along the seniors.
The Telangana Congress leader had a three-hour long meeting with Rahul Gandhi. Party general secretary KC Venugopal, T affairs incharge Manickam Tagore were also present. The seniors raised several questions about Revanth Reddy's style of functioning. They complained that Revanth Reddy was giving assurances to some leaders that they would get the party tickets for 2023 elections.
They sought to know if Revanth Reddy was given the power to decide on the candidates. To this, Rahul replied that the candidates would be decided six months before the elections. The seniors also raised questions about Revanth Reddy organizing programs without keeping them in the loop. Former PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy complained that he was being specifically targeted on the social media. MLA Jagga Reddy too aired his complaints to Rahul Gandhi.
Finally, Revanth had to admit that there were some lapses in his functioning and assured the leaders that the ticklish issues would be resolved soon. Rahul Gandhi then said that he would visit Andhra Pradesh as many times as the local leaders want. He asked all the groups to work together in Telangana.
