Telangana To See Two Celebrations on September 17!

September 17 has a lot of significance for the Telangana region. The Indian Army turned hero for the people of Telangana by making the region free from the rule of Nizam. Even after India became free from British rule, the Seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan did not merge the region into Independent India. With Nizam not listening, the Indian government launched Operation Polo.
Fearing the mighty Indian Army, the then Nizam King bowed down and announced that Telangana is a part of India. On September 17, Telangana became free from the Nizam ruling. Logically the day should be seen as Liberation Day as it was made free from Nizam.
The BJP came into the picture and announced that Liberation Day will be celebrated big way and massive arrangements were made. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Hyderabad to address the massive events.
Coming to the ruling TRS, the party said that it will celebrate September 17 as "Telangana National Integration Day". With TRS being in power, the party is also not leaving any stone for the arrangements. Besides a few events, TRS would also launch a few buildings.
In the last eight years, BJP did not celebrate Liberation Day on September 17 and the party has been celebrating the day on June 2nd. The BJP supporters say that as AIMIM might get offended, the TRS is not celebrating the day in September. AIMIM has always been in favour of Nizam due to various reasons.
So we'll see two celebrations in the state tomorrow. One is Liberation Day led by the Telangana wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the second one is "Telangana National Integration Day" led by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS).
