We have successfully managed to stop the third wave of the novel Coronavirus from emerging. Earlier the experts predicted that India is likely to face the third wave. Thanks to the relentless work and efforts of the Corona warriors. With their heroics, India had managed to cross the massive 100-crore vaccine doses mark.

However, the gap between the vaccine numbers is a big concern as people are still afraid of taking the vaccine doses. The fear inculcated in the public is stopping the public from receiving the jabs. There is a fear of the emergence of new variants if we take the pandemic for granted.

To see that such a situation won't erupt, the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao had announced that those who won't take the vaccine doses will not be given ration and pensions. An official statement was also issued in this regard.

Telangana Director of Public Health Dr. Srinivas Rao announced the policy of stopping the ration and pension for the beneficiaries if they don't take the doses. The new policy will come into effect from the 1st of November. He said vaccination is a key in battling the possible third wave of the pandemic.

The Telangana Department of Medical and Health issued key directives on the same making it clear that from the 1st of November, those who didn't receive their due vaccine doses will not receive the ration and pensions.

Earlier last week, the state health director held a press meet to create awareness on the vaccine doses. He said it's the need of the hour for the beneficiaries to take the doses so that the next wave will not emerge. If we are negligent, new variants might emerge, he said.

Giving the details on the gap in the vaccination, the health director said close to 65 lakh people in the state are yet to take the doses. Now the countries are allowing flight services with other nations and there is a chance of the emergence of new variants. If we don't want to see new variants, then the vaccine is the only way, he said.
