The second day of the Telangana Assembly Sessions started on an interesting note with the state Assembly unanimously passing the resolution to demand Bharat Ratna, to former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao

The resolution was put forth by CM KCR himself that was passed unanimously by the house. The resolution also urged the Centre to install the statue of the former Prime Minister in the Parliament complex.

The resolution has a demand to rename the Hyderabad Central University(HCU) as P.V.Narasimha Rao Central University.

The resolution termed PV Narasimha Rao as the draughtsman of the economical reforms, who showed India the path of development and urged the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna to PV.

Speaking in the house, CM KCR said, PV Narasimha Rao was a great reformer who played a crucial role in stabilizing the Indian economy with his economic reforms.

While the opposition Congress welcomed the moves, while the ruling TRS ally AIMIM opposed the resolution and walked out of the house. However, the house passed the resolution.

After boycotting the Assembly sessions, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen,(AIMIM) party took to Twitter and tweeted the party cannot support the move as he failed to protect the Babri Masjid.

"AIMIM MLAs boycotted Telangana Assembly proceedings following a resolution that proposed Bharat Ratna for PV Narasimha Rao. As Prime Minister, Rao failed to protect Babri Masjid from demolition & his communal politics is well known," Party's Tweet read.
