Telangana Veteran Poet Finally Gets Complete Bail In 2018 Case!

Veteran poet Varavara Rao who is accused in the much-talked-about 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence case got a major sigh of relief as the Apex Court granted him permanent bail. Earlier today, the Supreme Court heard the petition, filed by him, and granted him permanent bail in connection with the case.
Keeping his health condition in mind, the Supreme Court issued directives to grant him permanent bail. It has to be mentioned here that, Telugu poet Varavara Rao was earlier granted medical bail last year. Since then, he has been trying to get bail. His fight gave a good result and he was granted bail in the case.
The Supreme Court bench comprising U.U. Lalit, Aniruddha Bose, and Sudhanshu Dhulia also said that the condition imposed by the Bombay High Court to surrender in three months should be canceled given his age.
Having said that, the Supreme Court also mentioned that the poet spend over two and a half years in custody. Taking various issues into consideration, the Supreme Court granted bail on the medical conditions of the accused.
The lawyer who represented Varavara Rao in the case told the Supreme Court that the poet developed early signs of Parkinson's disease. Given his old age and his health condition, it would be tough for him to sustain for a longer time in prison amid not-so-good conditions.
