Telangana to have 24 Districts by then!

Telangana Government is firm on its stand of delimitation of districts in the state. Collectors were instructed to submit the details, such as road-rail-air connectivity, educational institutions, health care & etc., of the existing 10 districts for creating new ones.
Reportedly, KCR directed Collectors to make sure there are at least 5 to 6 Assembly constituencies in each district.
As many as 14 new districts will be created in Telangana state by June 2nd next year, which also marks the second anniversary of Telangana state formation. Creation of new districts will be done as per Section 3 of the AP District (Formation) Act, 1974.
Its been 37 years since a new district was created in Telangana. The last district to be created in the region is Ranga Reddy in the year 1978.
