A strange situation prevails in Alampur assembly constituency in Alampur Jogulamba district. Most government officials, teachers and even important political leaders don't stay in the constituency. They are prefer to live not in Telangana but in Andhra Pradesh that they had fought against.
Strange but true! Most of the government employees, government teachers, other important people and even businessmen do not stay in Alampur. They all prefer to stay in Kurnool, which is in Andhra Prades. Some cite children's education, yet others access to medical facilities and some others have yet other reasons. But, all prefer to stay in Kurnool. Thus, they become Telanganites during the day and Andhraites in the night. Interestingly, even sitting MLA Abraham too prefers to stay in Kurnool. He has a camp office in Alampur, which he reaches every morning, works day long and returns to Kurnool city by night.
Most people say that Alampur does not have many facilities and Kurnool, a big city and once a capital for AP, is very close by. It would hardly take even 15 minutes to reach Kurnool, which has better civic amenities and better access to top-ranking educational and medical institutes.
