A Popular Telugu Journalist who works for a Media House toured the native place of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the campaign and polling period in Gujarat to catch the mood of the people.
Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana District is a small town which is part of Unjha Assembly Constituency and Mehsana Lok Sabha Constituency.
The home town of PM Narendra Modi have all the facilities. Development can be seen all over the town including the Railway Station where Modi sold tea in the past but the iron shed remains untouched. Bus Stand has been modernized using PPP mode.
Locals say Vadnagar exist since the times of Mahabharat and Buddha. We could even see the statue of Bodhisattva here. Walls of the fort indicate this region was ruled by Kings centuries ago.
Beautification of the river where Modi used to take bath in his childhood is being done. Most of the houses in Vadnagar reminds us of historical structures. The school in which Modi studied from 8th to 10th Standard is opposite to the Railway Station. Aged People in Vadnagar claim they knew Modi and his Family Members personally. They share interesting things about Modi's childhood and his growth as a politician. Balachandra Bhai, a childhood friend of Modi, says PM called him to Delhi when he informed about his grandson's wedding.
Surprisingly, Nobody in Vadnagar is able to say whether BJP gets majority here during this Gujarat Assembly Polls. Why because, Patels, BCs, Dalits and Muslims would decide the fate of leaders here.
Jagadheesh Bhai Prajapathi, who is running the store once taken care by Modi's Brother, confidently says BJP is undefeatable. Whereas, Bal Badarish Patel differs with him and predicts BJP could win only 2 out of 7 Assembly Segments in the Mohasana Parliament Constituency. He told Patels weren't happy with BJP and women in their families had protested when Saffron Leaders came for campaigning. Even Principal of the school where Modi studied feels there is a neck-and-neck fight between BJP and Congress this time. Attenders of the school feel BJP face defeat in this Lok Sabha segment.
