By: Tupaki Desk | 21 April 2021 11:28 AM GMTIn the wake of the deadly second wave of novel Coronavirus, several states are suffering from the scarcity of vaccine doses, and the two Telugu states- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not an exemption from this.
Following this, the Chief Ministers of the respective states have written to the Union Government to send the vaccine numbers. Responding to this, the Centre is said to have sent vaccine doses to the states.
According to the media reports, two lakh vaccine doses of Covishield have reached Andhra Pradesh in a special flight. The vaccine stock reached Gannavaram airport from Pune. Pune-based Serum Institute is developing Covishield vaccines.
It is said that after the vaccines reached Gannaavaram airport, the state health department sent the same doses to the severely-hit districts in the state.
On the other hand, the Centre reportedly supplied six lakh vaccine doses. The vaccine doses helped the health department to resume the vaccination drive which was reportedly halted due to lack of vaccine dose
