US Immigration Officials advised the Indian Students either to comply with the law or face deportation for overstaying in the country inspite of the completion of visa period.

According to 'Accrual of Unlawful Presence and F, J and M non-immigrants' policy announced on August 9th last year, Foreign Students overstaying in the United States were offered a grace period of 180 days to leave the country. This deadline comes to an end on February 5th. Close to 200 Telugu Students who were detained recently during the sting operation conducted by Immigration Officials using Fake University have only 5 days to leave the United States.

As per statistics available with the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year 2017-18, 1.66 Million People with F, J, M Non-Immigrant Visas should either change their visa status or leave the country. Immigration Authorities were tracking the foreign students who overstayed using these stats.

In case if foreigners who are overstaying leave the US within in deadline, They will be allowed to come back to the country if they follow the prescribed procedure. If any foreigner was caught staying illegally, He/She will face a 3 year ban and action as per the immigration laws.
