The protests called by the Andhra Pradesh government employees are turning intense. The employees are not leaving any stone unturned to pitch their protest challenging the PRC recommendations announced by the state government recently. They have called for a rally Chalo Vijayawada which was supposed to be held today.

As a twist in the tale, the Vijayawada cops said that the rally cannot be held as no permission for the same can be given amid fear of the Covid virus. This did not go well with the protesting employees in the state.

On the grounds of no-permission for the rally, the cops are stopping the employees and a few employees were reportedly detained by the cops. Tension gripped the temple city as the employees are trying to reach the protest site to take forward the protest.

As a bid to stop the employees from protesting, Police personnel was deployed in large numbers in the wake of the protests. Special check-posts came into place across the city to curb the protests.

The BRTS Road, where the employees had planned to protest, was taken into control by the cops. A ruckus took place in a few places as the cops and employees have indulged in a war of words.

As a precautionary measure, the Vijayawada city police had swung into action and traffic curbs were imposed in a few places to see that no unwanted scenes were reported.

Given the new traffic diversions imposed in the wake of the protests, Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata had appalled to the employees that they should understand the situation and not go ahead with the protests as the Covid fear is not over yet. He said that people gathering in large numbers amid the Covid scare will not be good and urged the employees to keep this in mind and cooperate with the cops.

The Protests were called by the employees against the PRC recommendations. Unhappy with what the Andhra Pradesh government had offered, the employees are demanding that the Government Orders should be canceled and the pay scales should be issued as per the old recommendations.
