Tension Prevailed at Sri Nagar, after Students stage protest outside Sabitha Indra Reddy's Residence
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 July 2021 12:11 PM GMTTension gripped the Srinagar Colony area in Hyderabad on Monday with the students in large numbers calling for a protest outside the residence of TRS leader and Minister of Education of Telangana Sabitha Indra Reddy.
As per the media reports the students protested outside her house with a demand that the Degree and Engineering exams should be postponed. If the exams cannot be postponed, the exams should be conducted online in the wake of Covid fear.
The students of the historic Osmania University and Jawaharlal Technological University staged a rally from Sri Sathya Sai Nigamagamam to her residence in Sri Nagar Colony on Monday.
The students, who are conducting the rally have calmed down after the Minister assured them that the examination centres will be set up where the students wanted and said a decision has been taken over the exams.
Clearing the airs on the conduction of the exams, the Education Minister said the health condition of the students will be taken into consideration while conducting the exams. A prior announcement will be made before conducting the exams, she said.
The Minister told the students that the decision on conducting the exams cannot be taken all of a sudden and said before conducting the exams, an announcement will be made from the government end. After her assurance, the students returned.
