Terrorist attacks by PFI likely, Telangana intel sleuths warn RSS, BJP, VHP
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Oct 2022 3:58 AM GMTThe Telangana Government's intelligence department has gone on a high alert following a tip-off that the cadres of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) could resort to terror strikes. The PFI cadres could even hike communal tensions in several sensitive places and cause serious law and order problems in those areas, the intel inputs warned.
Sources also said that the PFI might target the leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP),Bajrang Dal and the BJP. Similar threat alerts have been issued to the activists of these organisations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The intelligence authorities have alerted the cadres of these organisations in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The security at the offices of the Hindu organisations have been beefed up and security protocols have been put in place. Intel authorities also said that the PFI ultras could even perpetrate attacks on the BJP public meetings in Telangana. Several key BJP leaders are likely to address meetings in the poll-bound Munugode assembly constituency.
The Central Government has declared PFI and its eight affiliates as unlawful under the UAPA act. Several key leaders of the organization have been arrested and the offices have been seized at several places. However, a sizeable number of trained PFI cadres are said to be still active. Hence the intel sleuths are said to be taking no chances.
