AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy issued a statement on drought situation, crop damage due to rainfall and measures taken for farmers welfare in the Assembly on Thursday.
Jagan: 'We have been doing everything possible for the welfare of the farmers. The state will progress if farmers are happy. It's for their well-being, YSR Rythu Barosa was introduced. We will be setting up a fund of Rs 2,000 crore to help farmers in distress post natural calamities. 62 percent of the people in the state are farmers. Every farmer family will receive Rs 12,500 per year. Rythu Barosa Scheme will be implemented from August 15th. It will be applicable to 16 lakh Tenant Farmers as well. That's going to be a record in the country! Kin of farmers who committed suicides will be paid Rs 7 lakh compensation'.
CM displayed the Farm Loan Waiver promise made by Chandrababu Naidu on the screen in Assembly. He claimed YCP Government cleared Rs 384 crore pending bills which has to be settled by the previous government.
Jaganmohan Reddy assured completion of Irrigation Projects under YSR Jalayagnam at the earliest. He informed the House that 48.3 percent less rainfall has been recorded this year.
