The Final Moments of Yakub Memon

After a 3-member Supreme Court Judges rejected the last minute mercy petition at around 5 AM, Yakub Memon was executed at Nagpur jail at 6.35 am.
Yakub Memon woke up at 3.30 am. He was permitted a warm and given fresh clothes. He was also allowed to offer Namaz and read the Holy Quaran in the prison. Then, He was provided a breakfast of his choice. Reports say, He hasn't taken food on Wednesday.
Soon after the medical examination, Yakub Memon was informed by Jail Authorities on what charges he is being hanged. At around 6.35 am, He was hanged by the constable who executed 26/11 attacks terrorist Ajmal Kasab. His body was sent for post-mortem to Nagpur government hospital. The hanging operation took place in the presence of a magistrate and video recorded. This is the country's 3rd execution after it lifted an 8-year ban on capital punishment in December 2012.
Yakub Memon will be buried inside the Nagpur Central Jail. Jail Authorities declined the appeal to hand over the body to Yakub's family.
