If he doesn't, the polling is zero per cent. Darshan Das, who is the priest of the Banagangeshwar temple in Gujarat's Gir forest, is the only voter in his booth. For him, the election commission has been setting up a booth for over 20 years. Darshad Das passed away on Saturday in a hospital in Rajkot. He was suffering from kidney related problems.
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about Darshan Das in one of his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcasts and his polling booth in Banej under Una assembly constituency has become world famous because it has just one voter.
