The Saga of Protocol Violation Continues in Telangana!
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 April 2022 12:12 PM GMTGovernor is one of the key Constitutional posts that comes with a lot of responsibilities and respect. Not just that, there will be a protocol that has to be followed wherever the Governor comes. A Governor's post is like a President's post at the state level. Barring a few functions and powers, it is more of the same.
However, the Governor's office is not having a good time in Telangana as Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan had alleged that the state government is not respecting her position and the protocol is not followed. She said this while mentioning the recent Assembly sessions which were started without her address.
The Telangana government had hit back saying that such a thing did not happen. IT Minister KTR alleged that if Tamilisai Soundararajan would have acted as a Governor then this would have not happened. The state government and Governor having a confrontation became a big topic.
While people were still talking about that a similar incident has been reported. The Governor went all the way to the Holy Shrine of Lord Rama Sri Sitaramachandra Swami temple at Bhadrachalam. During her visit to the temple, it was alleged that the protocol was not followed and she did not receive the traditional welcome she was supposed to get.
The protocol says that, whenever such a person comes, the priests and temple authorities accompanied by the local leaders should welcome them and offer them Theertha Prasadam. However, this was not followed allegedly.
The confrontation reportedly started when Kaushik Reddy was nominated as the MLC. Looking at the cases that were filed against him, the Governor is believed to have said no to the nomination. The issue went further when TRS had started to lock horns with the BJP on various issues like Paddy procurement and BJP showed less interest to grant any funds.
All these factors have led to a confrontation and the protocol was not followed on the two occasions. It is not good to drag a person like a Governor into political issues. The political fights are on one side and the protocol that has to be followed should be on one side. There should be a balance.
