The trend of Police siding with Political Parties is dangerous!

The Police officers taking the side of the political parties is a dangerous trend and there is a dire need of stopping the trend, the Supreme court said during the arguments while hearing a petition.
These comments came from the Apex Court while hearing a plea that was filed by an IPS Officer who was suspended. Ths officer sought protection from the court.
The petition was filed by suspended IPS officer Gurjinder Pal Singh in which he had sought protection from the Sedition case that was filed against him in Chhattisgarh.
Going into details, in the raids conducted by the ACB and ED, few documents were reportedly seized that proves his alleged role in the conspiracy against the Chhattisgarh Government. Besides this, documents of assets were also seized reportedly.
The FIR that was filed by the Chhattisgarh Police reportedly says that he is involved in the conspiracy against the government. He had approached the High Court seeking the quashing of the FIR.
However, the High Court refused to entertain his petition. With this, he moved the Supreme Court and got a major sigh of relief.
The Supreme Court had granted protection to the suspended IPS officer from getting arrested for four weeks. On top of this, the Apex Court also directed the state government to file an affidavit on its response on the issue.
