It will be a war between to fiery openers. Yes. Both were terrors to the bowlers as opening batsmen. They sent balls packing to the fence. Both were known for their aggression. But, both these openers who played for India, are now pitted one against the other.
These openers are none other than Navjot Sidhu and Gautam Gambhir. And both are now getting ready to play the toughest match of their life on the political turf. Sidhu, who began as a BJP man, joined the Congress to become a minister in Amarinder Singh's Government in Punjab. Today, he is a Congress MLA. Gautam Gambhir too is an aggressive batsman who joined politics. He is into the BJP and is an MP now from Delhi.
Gautam Gambhir is now the leading campaigner for the BJP in Delhi. Both will now fight each other in Delhi. With Delhi elections fast approaching, the Congress is planning to pit Sidhu to lead the Congress. Gautam too will be leading the campaign in Delhi on behalf of the BJP.
